Position: GCNSSC is seeking a dedicated Security Department Supervisor to manage security officers and work with the homeless individuals who enter our door seeking concrete and clinical services. As a Security Supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing all shift supervisors and security officers.
Reports to: Deputy Director
Schedule: Base shift is 4:00pm – 12:00am
Must be willing to work varying shift when necessary and be on-call 24 hours.
Responsibilities:
- Supervision of all shift supervisors and security officers.
- Training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
- Responsible for conducting interviews, make recommendations to hire new staff and train appropriately on the policies and procedures and duties, as per the hiring title.
- Develop and maintain the security schedule, ensuring that all shifts are covered as follows:
- Keep track and record when there are changes in staff schedule (comps days or hours, doing doubles, holidays worked)
- Work various shifts to supervise security staff to ensure that they are following the policies and procedures of the agency.
- Complete the appropriate reprimands for your staff when the agency policies and procedures are not followed as required.
- Present daily milestones detailing the activities in the security department ensuring that the information is timely.
- Ensure all grievances and incident reports are reviewed on a daily basis and given to the appropriate parties when signed.
- Ensure all CARES (meals, shower, overnight) inputting are completed in a timely manner.
- Other duties as needed.

Social Services Supervisor

Position: GCNSSC is looking for a committed Social Services Supervisor to lead the social service team in providing comprehensive support to homeless individuals seeking assistance. In this role, you will be responsible for supervising case management, coordinating care, facilitating community resource connections, and ensuring compliance with agency standards and regulations.
Schedule: 12:00pm – 8:00pm and (1) one weekend per month.
Responsibilities:
- Supervises and provides leadership and training to social service team members to ensure that they are providing targeted case management assessments, developing care plans, coordinating the delivery of interventions, use of harm reduction approaches; linkage with community resources; identifying permanent housing options.
- Networking with community providers to coordinate care and provide appropriate referrals.
- Providing crisis intervention/Client advocacy as needed.
- Complete daily, weekly, and monthly reports and assessments of client charts utilizing FileMaker Pro, CARES and Excel databases to ensure client’s progress as per agency standard.
- Managing a limited caseload of clients with a primary Axis I major mental health disorder meeting with them weekly or bi-monthly as needed.
- Assist clients with engaging in appropriate care, understanding their diagnosis and corresponding medication regimen, gathering necessary identification, establishing income, gathering necessary documents to complete a HRA 2010E housing application
- Preparing progress notes and bio-psychosocial histories as per agency standards.
- Maintaining accurate charts as per agency standards.
- Attend all staff meetings with a mutual goal of contributing to program issues and updates on agency issues.
- Conduct weekly case conferences, case reviews, and resolving daily client issues.
- Manage all incident reports and client grievances ensuring the appropriate staff has a copy for the client’s file, schedule meeting as appropriate and work on resolving the issues.
- Participates in external meetings with funding agency, community service providers and housing providers.
- Audits client records and ensures compliance with all Grand Central Neighborhood Social Services Corporation/Department of Homeless Services, regulatory and funding agency policies and procedures, regulations and requirements.
- Perform monthly chart reviews of each assigned chart using the chart review form.
- Plan and organize Social Services fairs and other events.
- Culturally sensitive and able to work with a multicultural client/customer population; ability to work in a non-judgmental manner and foster positive outcomes; able to work as part of a team and maintain professional boundaries.

Licensed Security Guard

Position: GCNSSC is seeking a licensed Security Guard to maintain a safe and secure environment for clients, employees, and visitors under the guidance of the Security Supervisor. In this role, you will be responsible for monitoring building access, ensuring compliance with program rules, and providing assistance to clients as needed.
Shifts Available: 3:00pm to 11:00pm and 11pm to 7:00am
Responsibilities:
- Monitor and authorize entrance and departure of clients, employees, visitors, and other persons to maintain security of premises.
- Use the hand scan wand to check clients and their bags for banned items.
- Call police or fire departments in cases of emergency, such as fire or presence of unauthorized persons or client illness.
- Write reports of daily activities and irregularities, such as equipment or property damage, theft, presence of unauthorized persons, or unusual occurrences. (Incident Reports/Log Book)
- Accurately and promptly completes all required documentation/data, including entering relevant resident information in daily logs before ending shift assignment including incident reports, DHS daily report, CARES
- Answer telephone calls to take messages, direct phone calls to the appropriate parties, answer questions on the program, and provide information during business and non-business hours.
- Securing the center and ensuring safety standards are met.

Schedule: 12pm – 8pm (Monday – Thursday) and 10am – 6pm on Fridays (or a flex schedule) with approximately (2) two weekends per month.

- Actively participates in Social Services fairs and other events.
- Assist with intake assessments as needed.

Position: GCNSSC is seeking a dedicated Cook. In this position, the person will work under the guidance of the kitchen supervisor.
Schedule: 11am – 7pm
Responsibilities:
- Ensure that all dishes are cooked well and presented in a aesthetically pleasing including ensuring the conformance with recipes, grant funders standards, Department of Health standards and the Department of Homeless Services standards and appearance standards.
- Assist with all activities of food preparation. Participates in planning menus, preparing and apportioning foods. Specifies number of servings to be made from any vegetable, starch and meat.
- Monitor equipment quality and assist with ordering new equipment as needed
- Assist the kitchen manager to determine how much food and supplies are needed to be ordered.
- Ensure that a log is kept of all prepared food, all discarded food and all utilized food.
