OFFICE MANAGER

GCNSSC Drop-in Center is currently seeking an Office Assistant to perform the following:

· Clerical duties, including completing memos, letters, emails, maintaining files and organizing documents; photocopy and faxes as needed.

· Assist with preparing reports and presentation.

· Maintaining inventory of office supplies and equipment.

· Conduct intake interviews as per agency policy.

· Maintain accurate client record lists (Daily Attendance Sheet/Overnight Attendance Sheet) and provide to the appropriate parties on a daily basis.

· Accurate Data entry and data retrieval from FileMaker Pro database/CARES System.

· Compose intake progress note as needed within the allotted timeframe.

· Refer clients to appropriate resources (Detox, Rehab, mental, chemical dependence) as needed.

· Must be flexible and able to function well in a fast pace environment.

· Need to have great interpersonal skill to deal with many personalities.

· Maintain confidentiality.

Requirements: Associate degree, proficient in MS Office Applications (Word, Outlook, Excel) with a minimum of (2) two years experience. Organization and planning skills, work management and prioritizing skills, Strong verbal and written communication skills, problem solving ability, attention to detail and teamwork.

Benefits: We offer full medical, vision; and dental. Starts with two (2) weeks paid vacation, which increase to five weeks after five years. Depending on the schedule – Paid Holidays, five sick days; and three personal days. Starting with $16.00 per hour and after (3) three months $17.00 per hour.

MICA SPECIALIST

Drop-In Center for Homeless Adults is seeking a Mental Health/Substance Abuse Counselor: Duties included but not limited to:

  • Managing a caseload of clients with a primary Axis I major mental health disorder with a Substance Abuse issues meeting with them weekly or bi-monthly as needed.
  • Assisting clients with engaging in appropriate care, understanding their diagnosis and corresponding medication regimen, gathering necessary identification, establishing income, gathering necessary documents to complete a HRA 2010E housing application.
  • Preparing progress notes and psychosocial histories as necessary.
  • Conducting two groups on a weekly basis related to the needs of the homeless population
  • Maintaining accurate charts as per the policy and procedures.
  • Networking with community health care providers to coordinate care and provide appropriate referrals.
  • Providing some crisis intervention as needed.
  • Assist with completing intakes assessments as needed.
  • Conduct in-house outreach of potential clients informing of the services that are provided.
  • Complete daily, weekly and monthly reports and assessments of clients utilizing FileMaker Pro, CARES and Excel databases.

Requirements: Proficient in MS Office Applications (Word, Outlook, Excel) with a minimal of (2) two years experience working in the field of Social Services with Dual Diagnosed clients and with the homeless population.

  • Must have Bachelors Degree with relevant experience.
  • Experience with providing services to the homeless and low-income population.
  • Bi-lingual in Spanish and English preferred
  • Strong organization and planning skills, work management and prioritizing skills, Strong verbal and written communication skills, problem solving ability, attention to detail and teamwork.

Hours are 11:00am to 7:00pm with approximately (1) one Saturday per month.

Security Officer

Job Description

Drop-In Center for Homeless Adults is seeking a Licensed Security Guard:

In this position, the person will work under the guidance of the security supervisor. He/She circulates throughout the building supervising client’s traffic. The Security Guard/ Officer remind clients of program rules, assist clients who have questions about the program, and maintain general order in securing the building.

Reporting to: Security Supervisor

Duties:

  • Assist with client orientation to program schedule, services, and staff
  • Encourages clients participation in Center activities
  • Access needed services for incoming clients
  • File incident reports
  • Securing the center and ensuring safety standards are met.
  • Must be computer literacy
  • Bi-lingual is helpful (Spanish)
  • Other duties as needed
  • Shift hours 9:00pm – 7:00am
  • Other duties as needed.
  • Complete daily, weekly and monthly reports and assessments of clients utilizing FileMaker Pro, CARES and Excel databases
  • Must have at least (2) two years of security experience.
  • Experience with providing services to the homeless and low-income population.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, problem solving ability, attention to detail and teamwork.
  • Must have Security License and F-02 /F-80.
  • Pay: $15.00 per hour (F02) $16.00 – per hours (F80) and after (3) three months $16.00(F02) and $18.00 (F80)
